We're saying farewell to SelfMade

And choosing to focus instead on our core job marketplace to better serve you in your career.

Join as talent on The Mom Project
Background 1

A letter from us to you

To our SelfMade community,

After careful consideration, we have made a strategic  decision to discontinue SelfMade services at the end of May. For important information, details, and guidance on next steps, read our FAQs below.

We are proud of you and the work we’ve done to help you start and manage your business independently, connect with clients who understand your unique value, and build your confidence along the way. However, at this time we believe the best way to serve our community and customers is by focusing on our core job marketplace at The Mom Project. We’re working to improve the hiring experience, connecting exceptional talent to companies that believe in the value of Mom, creating a more dynamic workforce and building diverse cultures through employment opportunities.

We want to thank you for the trust and support you’ve shown us as we built up this product with your feedback and needs in mind. It has been a privilege being a part of your journey, and we hope you continue to trust The Mom Project to help you grow in your career.

Sincerely,

The SelfMade Team

Frequently asked questions

When is SelfMade shutting down and what do I need to do to prepare?

The last day SelfMade will be available is May 31, 2024. All of your profile details and documents, including proposals, contracts and invoices will be deleted shortly after that date.

To make your transition as easy as possible, we recommend switching to another tool for any new projects immediately. To create proposals or contract documents, we recommend Hello Bonsai or Canva. To create invoices, we recommend Stripe or Paypal. We also recommend saving client contact information so that you can reach out or continue working with them outside of SelfMade.

Will I be refunded?

All free trials and active subscriptions will be automatically canceled on May 31, 2024.

Members in a free trial: Active free trials will never be charged and will have access to the platform through May 31, 2024.

Active Monthly Memberships: All Active Monthly Memberships will receive a refund for their April payment (or were not charged at all for April), will not be charged in May, and will have access to the platform through May 31, 2024. Refunds can take 5-10 business days to process.

Active Annual Memberships: All Annual Memberships will receive a prorated refund from April through the end of their subscription year and will and have access to the platform through May 31, 2024. Refunds can take 5-10 business days to process.

What's going to happen to my account and documents?

The last day when you'll be able to access your SelfMade account is May 31, 2024. We will begin the shutdown process shortly thereafter, and your account, along with all its data, will be permanently deleted. Please note that we will not be able to recover any documents that may be in your account after the shutdown date.

You can export individual proposals or contracts by accessing your project page, clicking into the proposal or contract and clicking “Save as PDF” which will download it to your computer.

Will my profile still be available after SelfMade is decommissioned?

No, your profile link will be decommissioned and inaccessible. If you’ve linked to it anywhere (for example, in a LinkedIn post or in your Instagram bio), you’ll want to remove that link so that it doesn’t lead to a dead link.

Will my proposal, contract, or invoice links still work after SelfMade is decommissioned?

No, your proposal, contract and invoice links will be decommissioned and inaccessible. We recommend exporting your documents and working directly with your clients off platform.

Can I still purchase or renew a paid SelfMade subscription?

No, we have removed the ability to purchase a new subscription or renew a current subscription.

How do I cancel my current subscription?

If you’d like to manually cancel your subscription before SelfMade is decommissioned, you can follow these steps:

  1. Log into your account
  2. Navigate to the Settings page from your Avatar or initials in the top right corner
  3. Click the Billing tab
  4. Click Manage Membership
  5. Click Cancel Plan from the Stripe portal
  6. When you cancel, you’ll still have access to your account until the end of your billing cycle or the May 31, 2024 decommission date, whichever comes first.

Can I still use The Mom Project?

Yes! We encourage you to join The Mom Project job marketplace if you haven’t already. You’ll be able to join our community of moms and apply for jobs. Here’s everything you can do on The Mom Project:
